Sinopsis
Atrapada en el escándalo mundial de los Papeles de Panamá, Ana Méndez, directora legal del bufete de abogados Shubbert Fassano, enfrenta un ataque mediático sin precedentes contra el país y la firma donde trabaja. Acusada de lavado de dinero, es perseguida por el fiscal Roberto Ramírez y la Interpol, por lo que Ana huye a la selva para evitar el encarcelamiento. Allí, la soledad y la ausencia de sus tres hijos y de Eric, su esposo, le causan un daño irreparable.

Director’s note: Papers for me is also a love story. Taking a view from Eric ́s side, Ana’s ideal husband and wonderful dad. The way he supports Ana in the goals she has set for herself. He is a calm man but when his family begins to suNer from the Panama Papers eNect, he fears for Ana’s safety and does everything he can to protect her. He is acutely aware of the dangers and realities facing his family. In the most dramatic moment of their lives, Eric becomes the only support for the children and yet he has never stopped believing in Ana’s ethics and values. Behind the corporations, there are workers like Ana who pay the consequences.

Producer’s note: I find interesting the possibility of producing content that talks of a global topic, the Panama Papers were by that time the biggest digital hacking in mankind’s history. The idea is to approach the story from a woman’s perspective who is involved as a worker and add another dimension in a world full of businessmen. To see and feel her drama with the firm and also deep within her family is painful. I believe people can relate to the film in a deep manner and validate the humans behind the scandal.
